Neil Cavuto Retires After 28 Years of Dedicated Service
NEW YORK, NEW YORK (Times Media Service) – Neil Cavuto, a steadfast and trusted voice at Fox News since its launch in 1996, has officially signed off after a remarkable 28-year tenure. Cavuto, 66, decided not to renew his contract, with his final broadcast of Your World with Neil Cavuto airing on December 19, 2024.
Cavuto was a cornerstone of Fox News, anchoring Your World with Neil Cavuto, Cavuto Live, and Cavuto: Coast to Coast on Fox Business Network. Known for his incisive yet calm approach to reporting, Cavuto distinguished himself as a beacon of professionalism in an often chaotic media landscape.
Before joining Fox News, Cavuto made his mark in the world of financial journalism. He played a pivotal role at CNBC, co-hosting its inaugural broadcast in 1989 and the popular Power Lunch. His expertise was also featured on NBC’s Today and PBS’s Nightly Business Report.
In his heartfelt farewell, Cavuto reflected on his career, saying, “I got to do what I love to do—report the news. Not shout the news, not blast the news… Just call balls and strikes.” His resilience shone through his career, overcoming personal health challenges, including multiple sclerosis, open-heart surgery, and even a battle with COVID-19, all while maintaining his dedication to his viewers.
Fox News hailed Cavuto’s career as “a master class in journalism,” recognizing his programs as setting the gold standard for business reporting. His departure leaves a notable void at Fox News, with interim hosts stepping in until a permanent replacement is named in January 2025.
For the desert community of Ridgecrest, Cavuto’s departure represents the conclusion of an era of steady, fact-focused news in an often turbulent media environment. While he may no longer be behind the anchor desk, his influence and example will undoubtedly endure.
