NEWARK, N.J., July 17 (Nationwide Times) — Panasonic is recalling about 11,480 electric toaster ovens in the U.S. and 2,184 in Canada after regulators said a cord insulation problem could create shock and fire hazards for customers who bought the model from Amazon, Costco and other online sellers.

The recall covers Panasonic model NB-G200 ovens, stainless steel units with the temperature knob on the bottom and the Panasonic brand name on the front. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said the affected ovens were sold online nationwide from October 2024 through April 2026 for about $170 each.

According to the CPSC, Panasonic has received four reports of tripped circuit breakers or outlets and one report that the product stopped working. No fires or injuries have been reported.

Panasonic Corporation of North America told Costco members that records show some purchased Item #2024930 between February 2026 and April 2026. The letter said consumers should stop using the ovens immediately and may return them to Panasonic for a refund or to a Costco Warehouse Customer Service Window for a full refund.
